Description
Regal Eagle by Dale Kauzlaric -- I was on Lake Wausau by Wausau in Marathon County, Wisconsin, for the storm clouds. However, by the time I got to my spot, the cloud formation was gone. I slowly started to walk back and saw this bald eagle flying at me. I had the wrong lens on the camera and it flew by me. As it flew out over the lake, it went after an osprey. It seemed this eagle was in a bad mood. It then dive bombed a great blue heron preening on a log. It then landed on a tree at the spot. It sat for about 10 minutes and then took off and flew to this white pine. It perched at the top and looked over the landscape as regal as could be.
The bald eagle is a bird of prey found in North America. Bald eagles can be found in most of Canada and Alaska and all of the contiguous United States. The wingspan of an eagle is 6 to 7.5 feet. It can live up to 20 years in the wild. Eagles reach maturity at the age of 5 years. -- dalekphotography.com
