Spring Longbeard by Dale Kauzlaric -- This spring longbeard is an exceptional bird. This bird is part of a flock of 3 dozen eastern wild turkeys located in Marathon County, Wisconsin. He has a unique J-shaped beard and I have seen him as a mature tom for the last 2 springs, so he is at least 3 years old. It is amazing the colors the toms have, when seen up close in a good light. -- dalekphotography.com

As a Wisconsin-based photographer and having grown up in Vilas County with its over 1,300 lakes, the outdoors runs through my veins. Through the 40 years of chasing images with a camera, landscape photography is my favorite, particularly landscapes with water, any kind of water. Colorful sunrises and sunsets can be captivating. Shooting after the sun goes down can yield amazing images. Waterfowl or other wildlife can provide quite the challenge to get up close in their natural settings. Someone left a comment on one of my sunset images about capturing the colors the master painter provided.
