A Rainy Colorful Wisconsin Autumn Afternoon by Dale Kauzlaric -- I went for a drive west of Wausau in Marathon County, Wisconsin, to find some colorful fall foliage. As I was driving the backroads, the rain started. I was in an area I have never been to. As I got to the end of the road, it opened up to this scene. The farm field had four turkeys on it and they ran off. I stopped and looked at this field and all I could think was "Wow"! This might be the best fall colors I have ever seen. Even the rainy late afternoon could not subdue the colors. -- dalekphotography.com
As a Wisconsin-based photographer and having grown up in Vilas County with its over 1,300 lakes, the outdoors runs through my veins. Through the 40 years of chasing images with a camera, landscape photography is my favorite, particularly landscapes with water, any kind of water. Colorful sunrises and sunsets can be captivating. Shooting after the sun goes down can yield amazing images. Waterfowl or other wildlife can provide quite the challenge to get up close in their natural settings. Someone left a comment on one of my sunset images about capturing the colors the master painter provided. I guess that would sum up what I try to do, that is to capture that opportunity that God provides and share it to the best of my ability by telling...
