A Tiger Striped Sunset by Dale Kauzlaric -- There was rain in the late afternoon in the Wausau, Wisconsin, area located in Marathon County. I went down to the McCleary Bridge in Rib Mountain to view the sun going down where the Big Rib River flows into Lake Wausau. After the rain, the sun was out and almost blinding for awhile. As the sun slowly headed for the horizon, the clouds were moving back in. After the sun set, the clouds lit up and turned this orange color, a tiger striped sunset. The wind calmed down completely and gave me this mirror like reflection. -- dalekphotography.com
As a Wisconsin-based photographer and having grown up in Vilas County with its over 1,300 lakes, the outdoors runs through my veins. Through the 40 years of chasing images with a camera, landscape photography is my favorite, particularly landscapes with water, any kind of water. Colorful sunrises and sunsets can be captivating. Shooting after the sun goes down can yield amazing images. Waterfowl or other wildlife can provide quite the challenge to get up close in their natural settings. Someone left a comment on one of my sunset images about capturing the colors the master painter provided. I guess that would sum up what I try to do, that is to capture that opportunity that God provides and share it to the best of my ability by telling...
