Description
Canada Goose Guarding The Pond by Dale Kauzlaric -- On one of the ponds I was sitting at last spring, during the first couple of sits, I wondered why there were no Canada geese on the pond. On the third stint, I noticed one goose on the far end, but never any honking. That is unusual in the spring, they are very vocal. A lot of times, if some other geese fly over, the ones sitting on the water will honk. The next time there, the lone goose was there. Then eventually, a pair of geese came and sat on the pond to my right. They did not even get settled in and that lone goose flew at them and then attacked the gander. He was protecting the nest. He chased him around the pond and here they are flying at me. The resident goose is the one on the right, honking. The incoming pair finally had enough and left. -- dalekphotography.com
