Orion's Belt In The Pines by Dale Kauzlaric -- It was finally warming up outside after a lot of frigid weather. I went to a spot I found over a month ago near Antigo in Langlade County, Wisconsin. I went to see what the starry sky would show me. As I walked the trail, the clouds would come and go in the wind. I kept my eye on Orion's Belt, looking for a good composition. Here I found it. I came upon these tall pines. Sirius the brightest star in earth's sky, can be seen below Orion's Belt. Sirius is also called the "Dog Star" because it is part of the constellation Canis Major. -- dalekphotography.com

As a Wisconsin-based photographer and having grown up in Vilas County with its over 1,300 lakes, the outdoors runs through my veins. Through the 40 years of chasing images with a camera, landscape photography is my favorite, particularly landscapes with water, any kind of water. Colorful sunrises and sunsets can be captivating. Shooting after the sun goes down can yield amazing images. Waterfowl or other wildlife can provide quite the challenge to get up close in their natural settings. Someone left a comment on one of my sunset images about capturing the colors the master painter provided.
