Quartz Lake Through The Trees by Dale Kauzlaric -- I drove the back roads of the Nicolet National Forest in Forest County, Wisconsin, looking for the autumn colors at the local lakes. When I got to Quartz Lake near Eagle River, it was hard to see the colors around the lake with all the trees at the landing. As I walked along the shore, I got a good look through these trees. With the overhead canopy, these trees were in the shade, but the opposite side of the lake was in the sunshine. What a view and I had it all to myself to enjoy! -- dalekphotography.com
As a Wisconsin-based photographer and having grown up in Vilas County with its over 1,300 lakes, the outdoors runs through my veins. Through the 40 years of chasing images with a camera, landscape photography is my favorite, particularly landscapes with water, any kind of water. Colorful sunrises and sunsets can be captivating. Shooting after the sun goes down can yield amazing images. Waterfowl or other wildlife can provide quite the challenge to get up close in their natural settings. Someone left a comment on one of my sunset images about capturing the colors the master painter provided. I guess that would sum up what I try to do, that is to capture that opportunity that God provides and share it to the best of my ability by telling...
