Shelf Cloud And Rain Over Lake Wausau by Dale Kauzlaric -- I went to the Rothschild Pavilion on Lake Wausau in Rothschild, Marathon County, Wisconsin, for the storm that was coming. It was sunny and very warm and only a line of clouds to the northwest. As I waited, the clouds darkened. As I waited, the sun disappeared and the shelf cloud developed.
