Sundown Over Bentley Pond by Dale Kauzlaric -- I went to Bentley Pond located north of Stevens Point for a sunset. This is part of the Plover River. This was one of those hot days and I waited for the sun to go down, as it was so bright. I was sitting in the truck with some trees in front of me with bugs all over the truck. It was not all that long and all of a sudden the sun was going behind clouds. I scrambled to get set up and the sun was disappearing fast and I was irritated with myself that I sat in the truck. The sun was out again after the first cloud passed. The clouds were turning a deep blue. The sunset turned out good anyway with the clouds. It was nice and peaceful with a goose occasionally honking. It turned out to be a beautiful sundown over Bentley Pond. -- dalekphotography.com
As a Wisconsin-based photographer and having grown up in Vilas County with its over 1,300 lakes, the outdoors runs through my veins. Through the 40 years of chasing images with a camera, landscape photography is my favorite, particularly landscapes with water, any kind of water. Colorful sunrises and sunsets can be captivating. Shooting after the sun goes down can yield amazing images. Waterfowl or other wildlife can provide quite the challenge to get up close in their natural settings. Someone left a comment on one of my sunset images about capturing the colors the master painter provided. I guess that would sum up what I try to do, that is to capture that opportunity that God provides and share it to the best of my ability by telling...
