Fiery Overpass Sunset by Dale Kauzlaric -- Storm clouds were brewing, so I went to the Rothschild Pavilion on Lake Wausau in Rothschild, Marathon County, Wisconsin, to capture the storm front. While I was there, a shelf cloud developed and passed over me. I scrambled to the truck before I got wet. I headed home thinking I was done shooting. As a half hour passed, I looked out the window and the sky was completely gold. I hurried back and when I got to the lake, the clouds were this orange color. All I could think was wow, look at the color and this fiery sunset. It continued to rain and not stop. I included the overpass with that orange reflection. -- dalekphotography.com
As a Wisconsin-based photographer and having grown up in Vilas County with its over 1,300 lakes, the outdoors runs through my veins. Through the 40 years of chasing images with a camera, landscape photography is my favorite, particularly landscapes with water, any kind of water. Colorful sunrises and sunsets can be captivating. Shooting after the sun goes down can yield amazing images. Waterfowl or other wildlife can provide quite the challenge to get up close in their natural settings. Someone left a comment on one of my sunset images about capturing the colors the master painter provided. I guess that would sum up what I try to do, that is to capture that opportunity that God provides and share it to the best of my ability by telling...
