Michigan's Agate Falls by Dale Kauzlaric -- Agate Falls is a 40 foot waterfall located a few miles southeast of Bruce Crossing in Ontonagon County, Michigan. The falls is part of the middle branch of the Ontonagon River in this western portion of the Upper Peninsula or UP of Michigan. The river flows over sandstone ledges giving it, its unique look. Agate Falls Park is a very popular tourist landmark. Agate Falls Park is a Michigan State Scenic Site. This falls is often thought of as one of the most picturesque falls in Michigan. The waterfalls is accessible by a trail from the park.
I got here midday and there were quite of few cars in the parking lot. However, it started to rain and in no time I had the falls to my self. The trail right above the falls is rather steep and I was wondering if I would have a problem climbing out with the rain and the slippery slope. -- dalekphotography.com
As a Wisconsin-based photographer and having grown up in Vilas County with its over 1,300 lakes, the outdoors runs through my veins. Through the 40 years of chasing images with a camera, landscape photography is my favorite, particularly landscapes with water, any kind of water. Colorful sunrises and sunsets can be captivating. Shooting after the sun goes down can yield amazing images. Waterfowl or other wildlife can provide quite the challenge to get up close in their natural settings. Someone left a comment on one of my sunset images about capturing the colors the master painter provided. I guess that would sum up what I try to do, that is to capture that opportunity that God provides and share it to the best of my ability by telling...
