Spring Storm Over Wausau by Dale Kauzlaric -- The forecast was for a storm front to hit after 5 pm. The rain came as forecasted. I headed out about 7, hoping for a break in the storm and I got it. The clouds parted quickly. Here is a look at the spring storm as it heads south over Wausau in Marathon County, Wisconsin. Normally, the clouds that are opposite the sun, are not all that colorful at sunset. However, on this evening, the clouds from this storm were very colorful over this farm field. -- dalekphotography.com

As a Wisconsin-based photographer and having grown up in Vilas County with its over 1,300 lakes, the outdoors runs through my veins. Through the 40 years of chasing images with a camera, landscape photography is my favorite, particularly landscapes with water, any kind of water. Colorful sunrises and sunsets can be captivating. Shooting after the sun goes down can yield amazing images. Waterfowl or other wildlife can provide quite the challenge to get up close in their natural settings. Someone left a comment on one of my sunset images about capturing the colors the master painter provided.
