Description
Blue Crepuscular Rays Over Radtke Point by Dale Kauzlaric -- I went down to Lake Wausau in Schofield, Marathon County, Wisconsin. The sun was very red on this evening, until it disappeared behind the clouds. As the sun was setting, these visible blue rays made an appearance. These types of rays are called “crepuscular" because they appear at dawn and dusk when the sun is rising or setting. Crepuscular rays are near-parallel, but appear to converge at the solar point due to an optical illusion from linear perspective. It’s similar to a long, straight road converging toward the horizon regardless of which way one is looking. -- dalekphotography.com

Dale Kauzlaric replied:
Thank you, Neal, I wish I could have seen how far those rays went, but I had trees over me.
